Avondale sits in the southwest Valley along the I-10 corridor and the Agua Fria River, and it is home to Phoenix Raceway. Its historic core is Old Town Avondale around Western Avenue. Garden Lakes added a master-planned lake community in the 1980s and 90s, and most of the city’s growth came in the 2000s as family neighborhoods filled in.
That makes most Avondale homes 15 to 25 years old, with builder-grade kitchens, bathrooms and flooring ready for an update. Old Town homes are older and smaller and may need system updates along with new finishes.
Full home remodels are a good fit for many Avondale homes: new flooring throughout, an updated kitchen and bathrooms, tile, paint and lighting, done together so the house feels new from front to back. We completed a full home remodel in Avondale in 2019.
Avondale also has many rental and investment homes. Remodeling for rentals calls for durable finishes that look good, clean easily and hold up between tenants. Permits come from the City of Avondale for structural, plumbing, electrical and gas work.
