Home remodeling in Glendale
For Glendale’s mid-century ranches, a full home remodel is often the best value: open the kitchen, replace the flooring, redo the bathrooms and repaint throughout, planned and built as one project.

Our work · Tempe
Glendale’s oldest homes are near its downtown, where the Catlin Court historic district preserves early 1900s bungalows. Central Glendale filled in with ranch homes through the 1950s, 60s and 70s, and north Glendale grew in the 1980s and 90s with master-planned areas like Arrowhead Ranch.
That gives Glendale three very different remodeling profiles: careful updates in historic homes, full opens-and-updates in mid-century ranches, and finish upgrades in larger 80s and 90s homes.

Local guide
Glendale’s housing spans more than a century. Its historic downtown includes the Catlin Court district, with bungalows from the early 1900s. Central and south Glendale filled in with ranch homes through the 1950s, 60s and 70s. North Glendale grew in the 1980s and 90s with master-planned areas like Arrowhead Ranch, known for its lakes and larger homes, and the west side has grown around the Westgate area.
Historic bungalows have charm and small rooms: compact kitchens, a single bathroom and older systems. Mid-century ranch homes usually have closed kitchens and original bathrooms. Arrowhead Ranch and north Glendale homes are larger but often still carry 80s and 90s finishes like oak cabinets, tile counters and garden tubs.
The most common Glendale remodels are full kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels that replace dated tile and tubs with walk-in showers, and whole-house updates in ranch homes that open the floor plan and replace flooring throughout.
Permits come from the City of Glendale for structural, plumbing, electrical and gas work. Exterior changes in historic districts may need city review, and many north Glendale communities have HOAs with their own exterior guidelines.
